For USA, FIA does not have any significant part in the go carts races. The bigger races are governed by other racing authorities, such as the IKF, IRA, WKA, and KART as well as the Indy Racing League. Therefore, you can register no matter if you own a readymade Go Cart with Turbo Engine or a hand-built go cart with the engine of an age-old car. These things do not matter when it comes to Go Carting.

Things that matter are the spirit and satisfaction of racing with some of the professional racers that may be from the field of motor bikes or formula one. There are several instances where Go Cart racing has been held in the US for raising funds for a specific purpose through a very nominal registration fee. Moreover, the greatest advantage of a go cart race on a big scale is the thrill that you will experience and will not forget until the next season.

The MSA regulates Go Carting in the UK. There are some other authorities that act on behalf of the MSA to allow and arrange the Go Carting races in the UK. In Australia, the AKA is the administration that carries out the Go Cart racing. AKA works directly under the FIA of the US.

There are several formats for Go Cart racing. These depend on the age groups registered with the races. Some are for kids and are homogenous tracks. Some are for teens that contain both homogenous tracks with some hurdles in the tracks. Others are for more mature people that offer much tough tracks. No matter what the track is or what the type of the Go Cart you are using, always remember that you are playing a game. Do NOT get distracted by the sleek Go Carts that are sold at much higher price. If you fail, you need to practice. If you wish, you can collect money to buy a better Go Cart. However, Go Cart racing is supposed to give you fun and confidence to make your life better, instead of offering negative or hard feelings to any one in the race.

You can build a go cart yourself for both fun and racing if you know the basic technology behind it. The basic technology behind a go karts parts is a frame standing a few inches above the ground level, on four wheels that can be powered either by an electric motor, gas motor or by your powerful legs.

The choice of powering such cart depends upon the usage of the go cart accessories involved. If you want to gift one to your kids, then the manually powered or pedal go cart is a better choice. This makes sure that your base is much stronger than the plastic.

Another point to remember here is that the base is not much higher than the ground level so there is no scope of a good suspension. Both in the production and hand made parts, the best method is to look for a double base with a small single suspension of a car between the two bases to reduce the effects of the bumps and all. The next part to consider is the engine. The engine that comes with the production of a cart and is well powered proving costly. You can use a refurbished engine or second hand when you are building the go kart yourself. Just make sure that the engine will not let you down in mid of a racing track.

The engine is connected to the rear wheels through a chain. You can also configure the engine for use with transmission and clutches for better control over the cart. The final and most important go cart part is the wheels. If the tires or the wheels are not properly attached, you lose your chance of winning at the competitions. Make sure the wheels and the rest of your go kart parts used are able to sustain any kind of terrain, especially the rough terrains.
