Kartbuilding.net is an excellent online resource for all things related to go-cart building in downloadable pdf format. They have plans for racing karts, wooden karts, off road karts and directions for a street legal go kart (powered by lawnmower engines) from Modern Mechanix.
The particular issue is from 1962 but is timeless as far as I am concerned. Very informative site with lots of photos of different modeled karts they have built. The also have an extensive link list with everything you would need to know about karting including building, buying, speed calculating and engines for go karts.
Easy Karts
For the extremely detailed enthusiast Easykarts.com offers a very detailed list of go-kart plans for purchase. Easy karts is a small company owned by hobbyists like you and me.
They sell go kart building plans for seven different types of gokarts including home-made karts, off road, two seaters and ATV’s cheap. Customers are given access to karting plans online so NO downloading pdf files or waiting for shipment of paperwork is not needed.

Off Road Go Kart Plans
Free off road kart plans can be found at Kartbuilding.net. You can buy off road go cart plans at Easykarts.com for $19.95 and they come with two bonus sets of plans. They offer the Viper off road plans which are non suspension.
Electric Go Kart Plans
Here is a photo of electric go cart plans from buggies.builtforfun.co.uk and they are free for download however only the assembly sheets for the kart plans are free. You must pay for the detailed plans that include detail assembly sheets, parts list, and overall assembly drawing sheets. The plans are for a 500 Watt kids electric kart.
